List of Activities During Coronavirus Quarantine

Hi Everyone! I know we are all probably going a little crazy this week, so I thought I’d share a  list of activities during coronavirus quarantine that you can do and also show you some things that I’m doing!

My Top 10 activities during Coronavirus quarantine:

  1. Try some new recipes or bring back some old ones. Many of you are probably already doing this because of the lack of grocery items, but this has been kind of fun for me this week to bring back some old recipes that I haven’t done in a long time. I made some Mexican tostadas with chicken tinga this past week and it was as delicious as I remember it!Mexican tostadas with chicken tinga

  2. I honestly haven’t been in the mood to read a book, but I have been listening to ebooks non-stop! Call your library and see if they have the Libby or Hoopla app and read some free e-books! While I am cooking/cleaning, washing the dishes…I have been listening to “Building a StoryBrand” by Donald Miller and it’s been amazing. Also, I listened last week while we took a walk at the park and I didn’t get bored while walking! I was pleasantly surprised!

  3. Perfect for quarantine- discover a new podcast! This week, I’ve been listening to “The Great Women of Business” and about so many amazing women who started their own businesses and how they did it!

  4. Video call friends and family! It’s been nice to chat with my family and some friends this week that I don’t always get to talk to. Call that friend you never see and let them know you think about them!

  5. Fun activity alert! Go outside and take some selfies! I know you think I’m crazy, but this is a great time for some new pictures with your kids! Set up your phone somewhere and use the self timer! You’re going to love it! Yesterday, I decided to gift myself some outdoor branding photos in our yard! P.S. did you see what Josiah was doing while I was busy taking pictures? He also got his share of pictures afterwards! Scroll down to the end of this post to see what he was doing if you didn’t catch it on my instagram stories!photographer holding camera

  6. Have you been thinking about blogging? Now is a great time to start a blog and process what is going on around us and put out some words of encouragement and motivation! Show us what YOUR family is doing!

  7. Fruit waters. You can NEVER go wrong with fruit waters. Put away the juices and get out your blender! Fill your blender with watermelon, cantaloupe, strawberries, or any fruit available. Fill it the rest of the way with water and add a little sugar or honey! Let me know how that goes for ya! We have been drinking a lot of lemonade made with honey and then topped off with some frozen blueberries! Mmmmm! Great vitamin C too!Boy drinking blueberry lemonade

  8. Check in on your small business friends! They need your encouragement this week. Just ask them how they are doing and if there is any way you can help! You’ll be amazed at how supported and thankful they will feel. I have a lot of friends who are wedding planners, photographers, venue owners, and florists. I love talking to them and reminding them they aren’t alone and they are going to make it through!

  9. Another activity for quarantine-perfect your boiled eggs! I know some of you are laughing right now, but seriously! This is the perfect time! I’m SOOO terrible at making boiled eggs, but I haven’t been able to find beans or rice here. My mother-in-law sent some eggs, pasta, rice and lentils. When my hubby saw them, he let me know that he LOVES boiled eggs and lentils (YUCK!). Therefore, I decided to make the man some boiled eggs. I put the eggs in a pan. Filled it up with water until the water was halfway up the eggs, then brought it to a quick boil. Lowered the temperature to simmer and set my alarm for 13 minutes. UNFORTUNATELY, my 2 year old was playing with my phone and turned off my timer!  Noooo! 3 Lauren Daigle songs had already played, so I figured that was probably about 13 minutes! Just guessing! Apparently, you should always play Lauren Daigle, because my eggs came out perfectly for the first time ever.  There you have it-the secret ingredient! =)boiled eggs in bowl

  10. Lastly, invest in yourself spiritually, as well as in your closest relationships. If you’re married, take a listen to the Naked Marriage Podcast or one about relationships. If you have kids, read a book about parenting (I need this myself, you guys!). Take a few minutes out of your day and listen to Pray The Word podcast by David Platt. I really believe this will help settle your spirit and give you peace and focus. If you want to see more of my favorite podcasts, click here.

Some other things that I have been doing are editing pictures, putting my pictures on Pinterest, working on taxes, and drinking WAYYY too much coffee. Eek! My hubby is still working and doing his usual. Josiah has been potty training, playing outside A LOT, watching Veggietales, and rediscovering some of his old toys and books! Also, he’s becoming a songwriter. His last song was “I’m so messy, I’m so messy, I’m so messy…” You get the idea…I hope you liked this list of activities to do during the coronavirus quarantine. What have you been doing during? I’d love to know!

If you’re looking for a wedding photographer who likes Lauren Daigle, likes Mexican food, and drinks lots of coffee, I’m your girl! Let’s go get a coffee and talk weddings! Contact me here to set up a free consultation/coffee date!
